Scottish Enterprise food workshops coming to St Andrews

If you are a member of the Merchants’ Association, ‘Stay in St Andrews’ or the Bed and Breakfast Association, you have probably already received the information below.  However, for those of you who have not, here’s the contents of an email from Scottish Enterprise for businesses in and around St Andrews:

——————
In this year of both The Homecoming and the credit crunch, it is more important than ever to provide your customers with an excellent food experience and make a good profit for your business. Scotland has a world-wide reputation for quality foods, and research shows that visitors want to taste distinctive Scottish cuisine and learn the ‘stories’ behind our traditional dishes.

In order to maximise on this business opportunity Scottish Enterprise and Food Tourism Scotland deliver a series of successful Food Workshops providing:

  • Practical advice and guidance from professional chef/presenters who demonstrate several different dishes
  • Advice on how to keep costs down and profits up
  • An opportunity to meet local producers
  • Networking with other businesses from B&B’s to 5* hotels.

The workshops are free to attend and the 3 topics are:

  • Breakfasts
  • Cooking with Game
  • Traditional Scottish Food with a Modern Twist

In planning future workshops in your area we would like to know which workshops would be most beneficial for your business and when is the best time to run them – please tell us by clicking on the link below to complete this very quick survey by Friday 12 June.

Feedback from previous attendees:
“It was wonderful and a great opportunity to get new ideas, meet other people and share ideas and suggestions”
“It was fun to watch and sample the tasty dishes and I hope to try out several of them over the coming months.  I thought the demonstrators were excellent.”
