3 Course Challenge Launch – 2 September at Perth Racecourse

Springboard are hosting a launch of the Scottish Course of the 3 Course Challenge at Perth Racecourse on Wednesday 2 September from 11.00am until 12 midday. Representatives from Caterer.com, Springboard Scotland, Perth Racecourse, Sodexo Prestige and VisitScotland will be cheering on some of the participants who have already registered for the race as they have a practice run at the starting gate. There will be chefs, front of house staff and waiting staff all in uniform going through their paces in preparation for the 5k Challenge taking place at the Racecourse on Sunday 27 September.

The 5k Challenge is open to all throughout the UK and we hope it will prove to be a great family outing.

There will be plenty of prizes for the winning runners in a range of categories including Junior (14-18) and Best Dressed. There will be fun for all who come along whether they run or not. We hope to attract running clubs and community groups of all interests and ages as well as employers and employees of the tourism, hospitality and leisure industries.

VisitScotland are offering a special prize to the Scottish college that enters the highest number of runners. Two tickets for the industry party of the year and highlight of the tourism calendar- the Scottish Thistle Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner, held in Edinburgh in October.

Whether you run for the challenge or just for fun (or even in fancy dress!) simply enter as a team or as an individual, for just £10 per runner (£5 for students), then bring along your band of supporters for a day out to remember!

By taking part in the 5k Charity Fun Run participants will be supporting the vital work of the Springboard Charity in Scotland, with all of the funds raised being used exclusively to help young, unemployed and disadvantaged people improve their prospects in life through a career in Scottish Tourism and Hospitality. These activities will have a direct impact on the industry in Scotland because Springboard’s activities also help to raise the profile of careers, improve perceptions and help to provide a pipeline of talent into Scottish businesses.
